Information:
As many other Four Seasons Hotels around the world, this hotel is in a unique location: until the 1970's, it used to be Istanbul's prison. Some walls of the prison were remained to give the hotel a special touch, as do some original elements such as marble colons, floor tiles and locks from the cell doors. The movie The Green Mile is based upon a true story - which actually took place in this prison. Renovations started in 1994, the hotel opened in 1996.

It is the hotel management's aim to give the customers a homely feeling, and not the feeling you may get in the average 5-star hotel: "10 floors with long, not-too-wide halls, all comfortably situated around an elevator".
The hotel has 65 spacious guest rooms, including 11 suites, a lobby bar with fireplace, piano room and terrace; a health club with exercise and sauna facilities and 374 square metres (4,014 square feet) of exquisite conference and function space. The roof terrace which is available during the summer months, offers a spectacular view of both the Blue Mosk and the Ayasofia Mosk on either side of the hotel.

Each room is decorated in a different way, the art on the wall is from native artists - with a different piece of art in every room, and not one 'painting' repeated in every room of the hotel, as you may remember from other hotel visits.
