Somehow some hotels always make
you feel at home - whether it’s nice room
decorations, friendly staff or a great location
in any city. But it’s usually all of those
things that make your stay in a Hilton hotel unforgettable.
As is the case with the Hilton Barcelona.
The hotel
The 286-room Barcelona Hilton
is situated in the center of the city's business,
commercial and shopping districts, only 15 minutes
from the Barcelona International Airport. The
complete hotel has been refurbished in a very
modern design. This 12 million Euro project was
finished only in March 2003 and certainly shows
a lot of improvement.
The Executive room
The executive room that we stayed
in was very comfortable and furnished in unobtrusive
color schemes. These luxurious rooms are located
on the fourth, fifth and sixth floors of the hotel.
A private reception is available for private check-in
and information. Although situated on one of the
busiest streets of Barcelona, we slept like a
baby as our room was soundproofed from street
noise.
A large window gave the room an airy feeling filled
with natural light. We especially liked the very
large closet with lots of hangers that was nicely
lit from the inside. At night this gave the room
a very familiar and cosy feeling.
The closet is also filled with minibar, safe,
iron and ironing-board - very convenient. The
same extras we could find in the bath room: sowing
kit, shoe polish cloth and nail-file – making
sure that no business-traveller is caught off
guard. The bath room also has an extra television
speaker so you can listen to the news or MTV while
taking a shower.
