The Le Méridien Park Atlantic Lisbon

The Le Méridien chain has a reputation of highly accredited hotels, all around the globe. From Lisbon's Sta Apolonia train station it's about 15 minutes to Le Méridien Lisboa, depending on traffic of course. This hotel is situated in what seems to be Lisbon's hotel quarter. All the world's leading hotels are represented around Park Atlantic. Here, Le Méridien already stands out in terms of design. The shape of this hotel already make it stand out amidst the surrounding hotels. Check-in was easy, and we were escorted to our rooms, lugagge service included.

Room: Standard single room, normal rate approx 350EUR
A king size bed with probably the best mattrass you can get in a hotel, six pillows with different grades of softness, a comfy chair with some magazines and books about Lisbon. A dark wood desk, pencils provided, as is the full set of stationery. A large TV with pay tv options (be warned, pay tv switches to paid mode automaticaly after 3 minutes, so no warning nor a black screen). Next to the TV a powerful SONY audio set w/remote control.

Room 1424
The room itself is just awesome. No spectacular designs or split level stuff, but you simply find everything you need, to start with a closet with an infra-red sensor for the in-closet illumination, a hairdryer, a safe, shoe mitt, extra blankets and pillows.

Bathroom:
A large heated mirror (=no condensation after your bath or shower), uniquely designed (wasbakken) and the soaps, shower gels and shampoos you need. The shower has two heads, one on the wall, one removable.
Slippers and robes are available, even scales.

Mini bar:
Who said mini?
The most impressive 'mini' bar we've seen so far, consisting of three drawers and a fridge. Martini, Bacardi, Johnny Walker (red), Jack Daniel's, Gin, Cognac, champagne, but also candies, breath fresheners and even a disposable camera (which should have been disposed already, actually, given the exp date of October 2002...). In the fridge we found another collection of Martini's and Bailey's, Bacardi Breezer and misc sodas and juices.

The view:
Rooms with even numbers face the city and the Taag River, so you are on a high enough floor, you can be assured of a great view!
