Room:
The room (executive suite) featured two beds,
two large couches, one office, a lot of stowage
place, a bathroom and a nice balcony. Wonderful
flowers were decorating both the living room and
the bathroom.
A bottle of Bellussi prosecco
as well as strawberry with different toppings
and a chocolate plate were served complimentary
with a welcome letter signed personally by the
manager together with weather forecast for the
following day.
It’s a superb room. The
regular rooms are smaller and don’t have
the large couches, but they are very pleasant
as well.
Executive Lounge:
We stood up early to discover the city and the
hotel. You can have your breakfast in the main
restaurant called ‘Robertos’ or, if
you are a guest of the executive rooms, in the
executive lounge located on the top floor of the
hotel. We took the advantage of the lounge. The
breakfast buffet was good; however it contains
only the basic breakfast items. If you look for
hot breakfast, you have to go to the main restaurant.
The atmosphere in the lounge was extremely calm
and pleasant, the staff very attentive and friendly.

As the concierge told us to contact
him before leaving for the city to give us some
hints, we did exactly this. He gave us maps and
marked all museums and other ‘mustsees’
of Amsterdam. We asked for a boat trip and he
showed us the shortest way to the port.
Pre-dinner snack:
Before dinner we had a look at the executive lounge
again, where they offer pre-dinner snack. Definitely
a great touch, the buffet was very attractive
and offered varied antipasti, and “amuse
bouches” with a large choice of soft drinks,
white wine and prosecco. A glass of prosecco served
by friendly and attentive staff and a view on
both the historical and the business centre of
Amsterdam, what else can you ask for...
Again, a wonderful plate and
a bottle of prosecco waited for us in the room.
Health Club:
In the early evening we went back to the hotel
and wanted to check the fitness activities. The
Personal Health Club is not managed by the hotel
itself, but the entrance is free for hotel guest.
The fitness room is equipped
with modern equipment and TV screens for divertissement.
There is also a sauna, a steam bath and a massage
room. Again, the staff was very friendly.
Garden bars:
After sports we decided to go to the garden bar
for a drink. Though there was a large wedding
going on in the Hilton Harbour next door (which
can be rented for events like this), the staff
was very professional, they seem to be experienced
in managing big events.
The garden bar. Pictures were taken on a rainy
Sunday morning. As soon as the weather is good,
the bar gets crowded.

Restaurant bars:
We now want to present the different restaurants
and bars. We already mentioned the ‘Robertos’
which is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner
and serves italian orientated kitchen. We also
spoke about the garden which serves drinks and
snacks. The Half Moon bar Lounge is a very nice
place for a drink next to a fire place and a view
on the canal. The ‘Issimo’ bar is
unfortunately closed on Saturday and Sunday, but
from outside it makes a very modern and nice impression.
Conference:
The Hilton Amsterdam also features a
business and conference centre with about 10 rooms
of different size for up to 1000 participants.
